When we first conceived the project of the portal: www.viverhoje.org, our first thought was that it would have to be fully accessible. The idea that all people could have the quality of information fascinated us. This was made possible through a partnership between the Instituto Viver Hoje and ReadSpeaker®.
ReadSpeaker is an easily accessible tool that makes the difference every day in our portal. It is used not only to facilitate the health professional in reading articles but also by everyone who does not master reading and by people with low vision.
ReadSpeaker allows Union County College to provide content to a diverse body of learners. ReadSpeaker engages auditory learners and provides a successful pathway toward graduation.
This is a really simple and useful enhancement for websites, making web pages easier to read and understand for people with visual impairments and those with reading difficulties – or a different mother tongue, where listening to a spoken text can be helpful.
This innovation will help us reach more readers – and listeners – contributing to more accessible information for more people.
We believe the ReadSpeaker solution is an excellent tool that all tourism websites should consider for communicating their messages more effectively to the widest possible audience.
A software solution that critically enhances the accessibility for all of the web, as it allows visitors to listen to the text of every webpage being read aloud.
Our choice wasn’t tough to make. We want to be able to develop quickly and provide updates on a short term notice. If you’re in a situation similar like ours, I can definitely recommend ReadSpeaker’s text to speech.
We did some user testing and I showed a young man who had a learning disability a website with ReadSpeaker, he commented, ‘this is the way all websites should have been designed in the first place. This is the future.’
I know having ReadSpeaker implemented on our new website will make it accessible to a whole new audience of people.
ReadSpeaker is a phenomenal tool. It improves the accessibility of myPLACE Online content for our Adult Basic Education students. For those with fluency issues, ReadSpeaker allows them to better understand text by hearing high-quality audio which helps to reduce barriers to learning. I commend ReadSpeaker’s leadership team for their willingness to donate this program to support the educational pursuits of Philadelphians.
The aim of Disability News Service is to provide in-depth coverage of disability-related UK news stories. It is crucial therefore that the DNS website is accessible to disabled people themselves. Having ReadSpeaker on the site provides an extra dimension of accessibility that would otherwise not be available. I know from comments from visitors to the site that they find the technology provided by ReadSpeaker incredibly useful, and I can also say that there has not been a single concern or problem raised about how it works since we started including it on the DNS website. I’m very happy with the service provided by ReadSpeaker and what it offers disabled people.
In order to improve our current website, we found it necessary to include the reading functionality. This helps all our citizens through the digital landscape. Especially since the vast majority of processes within the municipality of Molenaard are completed digitally (online), it is important to make sure information is accessible. As a result, we have more time for personal contact with those citizens who really need it.
After receiving the offer from ReadSpeaker, we went live within 2 weeks with the improved website and listen functionality. The execution went very quickly, without problems.
Without ReadSpeaker, our website wouldn’t be fully accessible, which means we’d be letting down our readership. ReadSpeaker provides a fundamental service that helps us and other sites to reach out to all sections of society, and is therefore vital for inclusion. We’re so glad we teamed up with ReadSpeaker from the very beginning of our journey with Disability Horizons, and we intend to keep on working with them and their excellent software for years and years to come!
ReadSpeaker offers great text-to-speech functionality that seems to be the best and most natural voices available on the market. Integration of ReadSpeaker is very easy but if needed there is a dedicated support team available for all your questions.
Integration with ReadSpeaker was simple, seamless and absolutely worth the time. They provide the tools and direction and you just sit back and enjoy the ride.
We want our services and information to be available for all people. We were approached by a range of other text-to-speech providers but the Read Speaker product was by far the easiest to navigate. It was also hugely helpful that consultants were local (in Australia). Our CMS support team had no problems with instructions on implementing and any queries were resolved super-fast even though support was overseas.
“Ensuring that our courses are both multimedia rich and suitable for all learners is something that is central to our mission,” said Storie Walsh, Director of Instructional Technology for VHS. “ReadSpeaker was a natural fit because it gives all of our students an audio option. ReadSpeaker’s integration with the D2L Learning Environment made it easy for VHS to implement the browser-based solution. Within seconds, the organization enabled it on a course level and within all lesson documents so VHS students can have all course web pages and documents read to them with one click of a button. Since implementing the technology, we’ve been encouraged by how popular it’s been.”
CNBC Arabiya chose ReadSpeaker due to its accuracy and position in the market as best Arabic voice reader.
The Department of Disability, Housing and Community Services within the ACT Government has implemented ReadSpeaker across the departmental website to ensure the content and documents are accessible to all clients and members of the public generally. The “Listen to this Page” function was implemented using the “Enterprise Expanding Player with Embedded Highlighting” and “docReader” has been added for documents, as has the ability to download to mp3.
Accessibility is vital to the department, which is client service focused, and Readspeaker has enabled equal access to information – a top priority.
Implementation was easy and the customer service received by the Online Services Team was excellent. This package has facilitated the leadership in accessible websites across the ACT Government.
We want our message to be picked up by as many people as possible. ReadSpeaker helps us in advance to make our website more accessible for people that have difficulty with texts on a computer screen. Not only people with a visual impairment, but also for people with attention deficit disorders, dyslexia, non-native speakers, and those with low literacy. I would also like to show my appreciation for the smooth installation of the ReadSpeaker package and pleasant communication with the ReadSpeaker team.
We wanted to implement a listen function for our online text and documents to make our website accessible even to visitors who find it difficult to read. Accessibility is important for our site. We looked around and tested different websites with different speech solutions. The best we found was ReadSpeaker. When we saw that Swedish Parliament was using ReadSpeaker, we were convinced that we should go for it.
We are very satisfied with the ReadSpeaker listen function. It was easy to implement. It works very well and it sounds good, even in Swedish, which is very unusual. ReadSpeaker is definitely the best solution we have found. Also we are very satisfied with the Support people of ReadSpeaker, who have been great to talk with and very helpful.

The natural vocal delivery was a pleasant surprise. Readspeaker’s linguists even worked with my staff to perfect some difficult-to-pronounce proper names on our site. I couldn’t be happier with the product or the service we received.
GSK always wishes to propose the highest access to our online content. With ReadSpeaker® we offer a very high quality audio version of our site www.gsk.fr. The implementation was very easy and quick and the functionalities are very flexible and customisable. Our users benefit from a very useful service which requires no software or plug-in download. ReadSpeaker® speech-enables our website since October 2004.
The ReadSpeaker software is ideal for online visitors with reading handicaps such as dyslexia or anyone who prefers to have information read aloud. Readspeaker® also makes our website more accessible to a larger audience, some of whom may not have any other source for online health information.
We have been impressed since the start with the ease of implementation and use of the ReadSpeaker® application. Our users are very satisfied with the quality of the text to speech feature and the very short time required to generate the audio. Another positive factor is that ReadSpeaker® is web-based, so that no downloads are required for our web site users to listen to our content in English and French, and more languages in the near future. We are also thinking of integrating ReadSpeaker’s technology into our mobile applications so as to make on-the-go listening a useful add-on.
At heise online we always look at useful features to deliver our online content. The web based service proposed by ReadSpeaker which converts our text into speech on the fly is a good example of how we can extend our reach. With just one click, all our users can listen to our text without the need for any download. They can also save the audio for reading at another moment as well as on another device. Implementing ReadSpeaker into our web site took us a couple of hours only and thereafter the service dynamically generates the spoken version of our articles.
Listening to a foreign language is a must-have component of the learning process. With our rapidly changing content, we were looking for an automated and qualitative solution to convert text into audio so that our users could improve their English skills by listening at all suitable times for them.
MyCow is very pleased with the level of usage of ReadSpeaker by our students. We get thousands of clicks on the ReadSpeaker listen function per week and the feedback received from our users is that the online text to speech service really helps them improve their comprehension of the English language. The click and listen (no downloads required) behaviour of the ReadSpeaker listen button also explains the high number of clicks that are experienced. The on the fly conversion of text into speech helps MyCow students measure at all times how well they understand English words and sentences. This is a very practical feature which they can access continuously to monitor their progress.
In terms of integrating ReadSpeaker, the process has proven to be very quick and efficient. It consists in a simple tagging of our site with the HTML snippet provided by ReadSpeaker. One very useful feature is that we have our own dictionary which can be modified when an occasional word is not well pronounced. In the e-learning space, that is a service that can be very useful to enrich the quality of the written content we want our users to listen to.
The General Council of the Val-de-Marne decided to include ReadSpeaker when it re-worked its website so as to provide a better access to its text content. Thanks to ReadSpeaker, we propose an excellent audio version of our Internet site. The text is converted on the fly into a near-to-human text-to-speech voice which enables us to change our text content at any time and provide the audio equivalent in real-time to all that have problems with reading such as people with visual impairments, dyslexia, foreigners, certain Seniors as well as all those that prefer to listen than to read. The implementation of ReadSpeaker as a software as a service (SaaS) was very quick and flexible and didn’t require any re-development of our website.
The implementation went smoothly and helps us continue to demonstrate our commitment to accessibility.
At Nestlé we are constantly seeking on ways to support our corporate social responsibility strategy, which we refer to as ‘Creating Shared Value’. This also includes online developments which increasingly impact how we reach out to our different constituencies. In this context, we have included on certain parts of our nestle.com website the leading speech-enabling solution ReadSpeaker provided by ReadSpeaker. With ReadSpeaker we give all our Internet visitors including those that have reading difficulties the ability to listen to our text content using state-of-the-art synthetic voices.
All our website users can do this without having to download any software or specific plug-in, they simply need to click on the play button on top of an article to start listening to the page. By adding the ReadSpeaker listen function to the nestle.com website we help users get free audio access to our content and making it as easy to do so as printing or emailing a web page. We are both proud and enthusiastic about this new channel we are providing to our customers.
We wanted to improve the accessibility of the information of our services to our clients and found ReadSpeaker via a search on the Internet. The ReadSpeaker solution supports what we stand for: obtain greater independence for the people we serve. The contact with Readspeaker has been great right from the start. They made us feel valued and supported. We like the solution that you just click and it immediately starts reading the text out loud. We have gotten great feedback on the service and the voice, such as: “sounds like my favorite uncle”, “ easy to listen to and understand”, “I feel better about myself because I do not need help to figure out all the words”. We can only look forward to Readspeaker being part of every website and reading material around the World!
The ReadSpeaker Listen Button offers us a very user friendly option to make our website more accessible for one of our important target groups, people with visual impairment and/or low literacy. By speech enabling our site we offer even more service to this group. ReadSpeaker gives us a very innovative, user friendly and flexible implementation of this service.
We work hard to make the site accessible to a wide audience and for all users and technologies. Implementing the ‘listen’ function is an innovative way of extending the service, enabling users to have the page read aloud to them.

The ReadSpeaker text-to-speech solution is very simple in both: implementation by the publisher and use for The Warsaw Voice online readers. In fact, after you implemented it (which is easy), there is nothing more to be done. What’s important, ReadSpeaker brings additional value to the webpage. Our web stats confirms that registered users of our web service appreciate to have it available. No wonder since the quality of the generated speech is also very high. Thank you ReadSpeaker!
We incorporated Readspeaker on our website (www.dyslexia.ie) when we re-designed the site in 2011. It is a feature often praised by our clients, as it makes our online information very accessible to people with reading difficulties. One adult recently told me she demonstrated the feature to her non-dyslexic work colleagues who also thought it was a great, innovative tool.
We introduced ReadSpeaker on our portal three years ago , just before launching the current version of our site. I must say that our experience has been positive throughout. Installation was easy and trouble-free, and we received great support whenever we had questions or required assistance. Our users are always impressed by just how smoothly the text is read out.
In the Picasso Museum we are very satisfied to have incorporated ReadSpeaker in our web. It has provided us with the opportunity to offer our contents in a simple, effective and pleasant way to different groups that can be affected with visual impairment.
We have decided to offer people with technical or physical disabilities the opportunity to learn about VfL Wolfsburg and have the text read aloud to them, depending on disability. We also wanted to make it easy whether you are accessing the content via a smartphone or on the website.
Besides the good technical functionality, the support is also very good. You get quick and competent service.
Instead of spending costly time in recording speech, ReadSpeaker made it possible to automatically generate a text-to-speech version of the Sochi 2014 website.
Accessibility has always been a key priority at Bracknell Forest Council. Everyone should have equal access to the internet and an accessible website will improve everyone’s experience of our website. Accessibility was a key priority during the recent redevelopment of the website and played a part in every aspect of the project. We implemented a range of accessibility features and thoroughly tested our site to make sure that it was fully accessible. Readspeaker was very straight forward to implement and this was greatly helped by the excellent technical support available. The voice used it excellent and there are options available to change settings to tailor it to an individual’s needs. Readspeaker is an integral service on our website and one I’d be happy to recommend to other local authorities and organisations looking to implement a text to speech service.
The Readspeaker team did all they could to help us implement Readspeaker on our website. I would definitely recommend them.
