Announcing a new ReadSpeaker webReader release

A simplified Listen button and player, a page that scrolls with the reading, a new Text Mode, and translation and dictionary lookups on any selected text.

ReadSpeaker is proud to present the latest release of webReader, its automated reading service for websites.

After a close study of what our customers were asking for, we decided to rethink the product around one idea: making it easier to use for everyone who is trying to reach web pages and online content. The new release brings the following updates.

  • The Listen button, the audio player and the toolbar have a new, simplified look that is easier to use.
  • When reading begins, the page now scrolls down automatically to keep up with the reading. Once the Listen button is out of sight, a new control panel appears in the lower left corner of the page, so browsing and listening stay within reach.
  • Text Mode offers a simplified reading view, where the pages of the website are shown without any decoration or anything else that is not needed for reading.
  • Select any text on the page and a menu appears offering Listen, Translation and Dictionary.
  • Translation makes sure your content reaches readers in many countries.
  • Dictionary helps readers understand your web pages as they read them. They only have to select the word they want to understand on the page to find its definition in the online dictionary.

Why your website needs text to speech

The truth is that the content of your website is not easy to reach for many of the people who visit it. That includes people with reading and writing difficulties, people with learning difficulties, people with low vision, language learners, the growing number of older readers, people on the move, and anyone simply looking for a simpler way to reach digital content. There is more on the webReader product pages.
