Japanese and English announcements broadcast to every station from the operator's control centre

From the end of March 2020, ReadSpeaker voices are available in English across every railway station operated by Keio Corporation. When a service is cancelled or delayed, Keio does not only deliver its regular announcements through its passenger information and public signage system: it also broadcasts the information in Japanese to every station from the operator's control centre.

Railway broadcasting with the ReadSpeaker speechEngine SDK

Using the ReadSpeaker speechEngine SDK, the company can turn text into speech in real time instead of relying on a narrator's recorded voice. The pronunciation of station names and of other information can also be adjusted in advance, which makes it possible to produce clearer and more natural speech.
